Kettlebell Push Press

A leg-assisted press: a short dip and explosive drive let you handle more weight than a strict press.

ShouldersTricepsQuadsCoreKettlebell

How to perform

  1. 1.Bell in the rack position, elbow tucked
  2. 2.A short, springy 10-15 cm dip with no forward lean
  3. 3.Explosive leg drive transfers momentum into the bell
  4. 4.Finish the press with the arm to full lockout overhead

Common mistakes

  • Dipping too deep and losing the spring
  • Leaning forward in the dip
  • Pressing early with the arm before the leg drive

Tips

  • A perfect bridge between the strict press and heavier loads

Limitations

Use caution with issues in: shoulders, knees. If you feel discomfort, reduce the range of motion or swap the exercise — ideally after consulting a coach.
