Box Jump

Builds explosive leg power and the ability to generate force quickly.

How to perform

  1. 1.Land softly on the whole foot with bent knees
  2. 2.Stand up fully on top of the box
  3. 3.Step down — don't jump down

Common mistakes

  • Jumping down off the box — high impact on the joints
  • Chasing box height at the expense of landing mechanics

Tips

  • Start with a low box and raise the height gradually

Limitations

Use caution with issues in: knees. If you feel discomfort, reduce the range of motion or swap the exercise — ideally after consulting a coach.
